Frequently Asked Questions

  •  Fresh5x is a program that gives SNAP/CalFresh recipients the ability to earn money to buy more produce (fresh fruits & vegetables) with your EBT card at one of our participating corner stores. You have to use your benefits on produce in order to earn additional money (rewards) that can be redeemed for more produce.

All other EBT-eligible items like frozen/dry produce, milk, eggs, dairy, meat, grains, nuts, canned foods, soda, chips, candy, etc. cannot be redeemed with your rewards.

  • You can sign up for Fresh5X if you are 18 years and older and currently receive SNAP/CalFresh benefits on an EBT card.

Present your EBT card to the store cashier and they will enroll you. A phone number and the zip code where you live are required during sign up. You’ll be asked to provide a physical address, email, family size and number of children in your household, but these are optional.

Want to sign up online? Follow this link: bit.ly/fresh5x.

  • For every $1 SNAP/CalFresh benefits you use to buy produce (fresh fruits & vegetables), you’ll earn $5 in rewards money you can use to buy more produce the next time you shop at the store. For example, if you use $5, you’ll earn $25.

  • Your rewards are stored in a virtual Fresh5x account created for you during sign up.

These rewards are not refundable as cash! They only work towards produce at our participating stores.

Simply make a second purchase at our participating stores to redeem your rewards.

    These rewards expire monthly.
